- Applying for 2nd or 3rd year entry to a bachelor degree programme:
In some cases, students may have completed and obtained higher qualifications from overseas institutions and are looking for direct entry or a top up degree. It is necessary to provide us with detailed modules that have been taken in order to work out the credit exemptions and study plan during the time at Middlesex.
2. Applying for Art and Design Programmes
Applicants are required to submit their portfolios together with their applications for art and design programmes. The portfolio is a key element in the application process and essential to be impressive. It should portray students’ own ideas in the form of a CD or a sketchbook which consists of sketching, drawing, painting, slides and photographs. Generally, each portfolio should include approximately 20-30 pieces of work. Each piece of work should be supported by a brief caption to demonstrate the roots of the design, its purpose and any extensions can be further developed. We do encourage students to include their previous work dating back few years ago so we can see the progress.
Some students may not have formal art and design training before. They may be required to join a one-year foundation programme during which, under the guidance and supervision of our teachers to discover their strengths and improve their weakness. This process brings the students to another level and a clear picture of what they turn out to be in the art and design industry. Most of them are surprised after the hard work being done all the way.
